Off-white paws carried the shewolf along the borders of Sarquin. She might not have the rank, but that didn't mean she couldn't patrol. After all it was important to keep out any rogues and watch out for danger. With the drought the other predators in the forest had become rather aggressive and unpredictable. Since the herds had moved off to find water and better food sources for themselves, it was leaving the other animals here scavenging. The packs were forced to eat things not typically in their diet, as well as traveling much farther than they'd ever gone just for a chance at finding something to eat. The group was small, but each was a full grown adult and needed a decent sized meal.
Ears perked atop her head as she walked slowly along the borders of Liwanu, sniffing at the markers for any unfamiliar scents. So far everything was fine, besides a few harmless scents of birds or other small critters. Tail swayed behind her back as Murua continued on, keeping herself alert to possible dangers. Just because she hadn't smelled anything on the border didn't mean that there couldn't be something lurking.

He hadn't been in these lands for very long but so far, he'd come to find that these lands were much more peaceful then those he had been born into. It had been a world of blood and war and of blood lines so slurred, he didn't know where they started or ended. He had been so confused on his duty to the rebellion or his blood duty to his family. Here, he didn't have to worry about any of that. Here, he could start over, start a new life but he never would be able to erase the scars of his past. The most striking "scar" from his past was the lack of tail. He only had a small stub left. Before he knew they had been his brothers, Roran had gotten into a fight with two males, Night and Star, and before he killed them, they took their revenge, one ripping his tail from his backside while the other lashed out with his claws and nearly took his eye which was the last scar. Across his right eye was a large pink scar where the fur would never grow back, reminding him till the day he died of the deed he had done. But so far, no one had commented about his appearance. His past was his past. As long as no one asked, he was happy.
However, since joining this pack, he'd come to realize just how much his warrior training affected him. He couldn't sit still for very long. Pack life was nice but without much happening day after day, his body itched for the rigorous labors of a fight. Instead of fighting, he took to running the borders which was what he was doing now. His fur was shiny with sweat and his tongue rolled from his mouth but he couldn't be happier exerting all his energy. It felt great to finally be out and doing something. He supposed he'd have to stop and hunt here soon, to stretch his other muscles. But just before he turned to head back into the territory, he caught the strong scent of a pack member and it wasn't a scent marker. This was the actual body. He stopped in his run and perked his ears forward staring forward. He was still new to the pack and couldn't quite pinpoint who the scent actually belonged to. He just knew he could smell the pack on their scent.
Eventually, she appeared and he grinned. Murua was one of the females in the pack he knew well. She had two sisters who made up the extent of the female population. As a top notch ladies man, Roran had taken the chance to butter up the other two sisters, but not Murua yet. He knew that Huyana had it out for the Alpha and the other hadn't given him much interest he supposed his luck might change with this sister. He sat down where he stood, his tail wagging, well, what was left of his tail. He threw a grin onto his face as she got closer. "Hey there, Murua! I suppose it's too nice of a day to sit around in the pack. Mind if I join you?" His auburn fur burned like a flame in the afternoon sun and his tan eyes seemed almost translucent in the direct sunlight. If you could look past the scar, he was quite handsome.

Each and every day she prayed for rain, and most of the time those prayers went completely unanswered. The drought had caused so much destruction, and most of the herds had left the lands all together. Which meant the remaining predators had to compete viciously with one another for every morsel of meat they caught. Most of the packs recent kills had been taken by a large male grizzly bear, and she had mostly given up on pack hunting at the moment. Huyana was doing much better when she ran down rabbits by herself or the occasional grouse.
The female was honestly grateful the pack didn't have pups this year to watch after, they probably would have died from the heat and lack of food anyway. Her blue eyes glanced up into the sky seeking out a storm cloud, and for once she did see one. Far on the horizon she saw the dark cloud forming, and felt a sense of relief. the drought was finally coming to an end? With the wind picking up so did her mood, and the she wolf continued along her path in relative silence. The scent of her sister reached her nose and without giving a conscious thought she veered in that particular direction. It didn't take very long to find her sister Murua and her male companion. She eyed him for a moment, not really sure how to take his company.
She knew he was a flirt, and didn't seem to be serious about anyone in particular. Huyana approached her sister with a slight bounce in her step, woofing softly she nudged her gently. The love between the trio was rather strong, and she would do anything for Murua and Uje. Her cousin Jinaki however was a different story all together, he was power driven. They often clashed anymore because he always talked of taking over the pack.
It was frightening to her, the pack had dealt with a lot of loss recently. First with the hunters taking the Alpha female and her pups lives, along with her own parents, Murua's mate, and a few others. The pack was practically gone and he wanted to try and take it over? Nudging her sister yet again the female stepped back and looked between the two of them.
"What are you too up to?" She asked them both softly, curious of what was going on. Probably nothing. Her head tilted back as the wind pushed against her face and neck, the delicious smell of rain tickling her nostrils for a moment. Indeed rain was on it's way, and hopefully with it the herds would return to them.
