The Luna Mountain range is the tallest and longest mountain range in the Abhaya area. They run adjacent to the Kaspien Mountains which lie to the east. The word 'luna' means moon, which was given to the range by natives long ago when the full moon's eclipse could best be viewed from a particular peak. It is a rocky, somewhat barren place nearer the peaks, but down in the valleys below lie pockets of life; lakes, forests, rivers, and mountain meadows allow wildlife to thrive here year round.
