Hearing something behind her, she twisted her head to look back, bright green eyes flashing with worry. Was she being stalked? Had the monsters who had murdered her pack caught up with her? Panic gripped at her chest, closing around her heart as she forced herself to breathe. There was nothing there, only the trees and the path behind her. Even now, several months on, the attack haunted her. She had seen her alphas murdered, her parents slaughtered... Her siblings were likely also gone and Hercules... That part hurt the most.
In her dreams, the dark brute would come and find her. He would lay beside her in the night and keep her safe from harm. But it was not real, she had not seen him since they had been seperated and she had to assume the worst. Still, a sigh pulled from her aws as she turned her gaze back to the trail ahead. What she would not give to see him again, to feel that warmth as he had brought out within her.
Flicking her tassel she walked onwards, reminding herself of the promise she had made. She would not live in that past, she must look forwards to the future and this place seemed perfect. There were, from what she had managed to find out, several packs in the area and she hoped to find her home among them. Only she did not know where to go. She needed to find the place which felt right.
Pads carried her forwards, her tread gentle, for some time. Overhead birds sang and the world was beautiful but her focus was singular as she picked up on a scent at the edge of a large field. Clearly, this was a pack boundary. The scents of strangers overlapped and crept up to greet her and she halted, her courage faltering. How did she know how they would take her? Would she be able to outrun them if needed? Questions without answers, which would not have answers until she tried, and plagues by loneliness she gave in, throwing her head back in a long, sorrowful howl. Now they knew she was here, she would just need to wait for a response.
